our name

pinpoint is short for two things:

  • parent information point
  • parental involvement point.

The 'i' in our logo is designed to look like the information logo you can see in towns and cities directing you to where you can get local information. So, we hope it is instantly recognisable that pinpoint is a place where you can find information.

Our original strapline (the line below the logo explaining what the organisation is about) said 'an independent parental information, support and involvement network run by parents for parents'. However, we have now shortened this on our new logo to 'by parents for parents' - a simple, easy to remember statement which we hope says it all.
