Further information

Parents attending the pinpoint Cambridge City network meeting on 9 July 2009 talked about the issues they had with they way their family is supported whilst in Addenbrooke's hospital with Meryl Moore, Head of Children's Services, and Laura Marshall, Well Child nurse.

It was agreed to set up action group to develop good practice that could be shared with staff in the hospital.

The first meeting of the action group is on 23 November 2009 from 10am-2pm (venue to be confirmed but will be in Cambridge). All parents and carers who are interested in improving the way families are supported in Addenbrooke's are invited to join the action group.

Please note the issues raised were around practical issues such as the lack of wheelchairs, unsuitable beds, lack of communication with parents and siblings, staff skills and knowledge around supporting disabled children young people who are, for example, non-verbal, and the lack of support in place when discharged to return home and not about the quality of medical care.

More information will be added to the website soon, in the meantime email Lenja or phone 0751 741 9761
