The British Dyslexia Association, (sponsored by the SpLD Trust), is reviving the Peterborough and Cambridge Dyslexia Associations.
To mark the re launch of both associations, there will be a FREE Conference in Peterborough on 24th of November (see Flyer) aimed at Teachers and T.A.s and Parents of dyslexic children.
To provide an event to bring together large numbers of parents of dyslexic children, so that they can learn more about dyslexia and how to help their children - AND - teachers and teaching assistants to enhance their knowledge of dyslexia and how to help their pupils. To encourage membership of local associations, which will add a collective voice to the issues of the one in ten of the population who have dyslexia.
The event will be split into two sessions:
Presentation 1: 3.30pm for 3.45 start - until 5.15 pm : for teachers and TAs “How dyslexics learn and how to make your school dyslexia friendly”
Presentation 2: 7.00pm - 9:00 pm : for parents/carers of dyslexic children “Dyslexia explained and how to support your dyslexic child"
All visitors will receive:
- An opportunity to browse the exhibitors' stands with many SpLD resources available to look at or buy
- Opportunity for special-price membership of the NEW Local Associations and BDA if joining on the day of the conference or before. Normally £15 (£8 conference rate)
- Free copy of the Dyslexia Handbook
- Free light refreshments
- Welcome pack with lots of useful information
- Meet and talk with our dyslexia professionals
- Opportunity to join a parent/tutor support group
