Further information
We may be heading into winter now, but there’s nothing more uplifting than the sight of rows upon rows of golden daffodils. Add to that the sound of new-born bleating lambs and you’ve summed up the essence of spring!
The perfect place to enjoy the best the countryside has to offer is at Sacrewell Farm and Country Centre, located just a stone’s throw from Peterborough city centre. As part of the William Scott Abbott Trust, Sacrewell Farm is a registered charity that helps visitors explore the importance of food and farming to the local area.
Now Sacrewell Farm needs you! Dobbies garden centre, in Peterborough, has kindly donated a whopping 5,000 bulbs to brighten up the Farm’s springtime borders. So if you’re willing to join the Big Bulb Plant roll up your sleeves, prepare to get your hands dirty, and remember to bring your own trowel!
The Big Bulb Plant will be held on Saturday 12th November, between 11am-2pm. The whole family can take part, and every person who helps with the bulb planting will receive £2 off their entry price into the Farm that day!
The bulb planting area is accessible by a tarmac path, and the planting will take place by a (fenced-off) roadside so there is no need to cross the grass to plant the bulbs. Laura from Sacrewell farm will be on hand to help with the bulb-planting too.
