Further information

If you think parents should be involved in planning the way OT services are delivered in Cambridgeshire please join the OT team on 8 November

At last week's pinpoint network meetings, there has been a lot of talk about occupational therapy (OT) services. The OT service has contacted pinpoint to help them get families who have used their service more involved in planning the way they support families in future.

We believe that when the people, services and organisations providing support to families listen to what the people using their services have to say, services can be improved. So, if your family has received OT services in the past 18 months, and you would like to share how you think parents can best be involved in planning OT services in future, you are invited to come to the OT 'Away Day' on Tuesday, 8 November 2011 at Ida Darwin in Fulbourn, Cambridge CB21 5EE. Childcare and travel costs will be reimbursed, and free parking is available. A light lunch will also be provided.

The day will begin at 9.30am with registration and refreshments ready for a 10.00am start, and will finish by 4.30pm. The team realises it may be hard for parents and carers to stay until 4.30pm - particularly those of you who live some way away - so if you would like to get involved but need to leave earlier, or will struggle to get there for 10am, please let us know. There will be an opportunity to leave at 2pm.

We will be looking at what we mean by participation, and the different ways parents and OT service providers could work together to improve services.

If you would like to book a place please phone the OT service directly on 01223 884104 or email sue.grief@nhs.net. If you would like to be involved but are not available on that date, please let Lynn know by email lynn@pinpoint-cambs.org.uk or phone 07871 558850.
