RECAP fashion show - volunteers needed

Time:12:00pm - 4:00pm

Where:St Neots

Further information

RECAP is looking for models to volunteer on a catwalk, promoting charity-shop clothes to other residents. For those interested in second-hand fashion but not so keen on modelling there will be plenty of other volunteering opportunities, including selling clothes for charitable purposes.

The purpose of the campaign is to encourage people to put their clothes into the best possible use. Textiles are energy intense materials and we would like to encourage people to keep them in the loop of usage for the longest possible time. This means keeping your clothes, repairing and restyling them, but also donating unwanted items to charities, buying second-hand clothes and ultimately recycling what's no more wearable.

We're inviting all models to arrive a bit earlier - 9.45am for make-up and rehearsal. The fashion show will start at 12.30pm and lasts around 30 minutes. After which time the models are free to go or stay for the rest of the event, just enjoying the activities or maybe volunteering again, selling clothes for charities.

For non-modelling volunteers the main activity would be selling clothes for charities or alternatively helping out with the sewing workshops.

There will be a second event on 11 June 2011, so if you would like to join us for one of these events? Or would you like to ask more questions before making your decision, contact Kornelia Korzec, Waste Campaigns Officer on 01223 699697 or email: Kornelia.Korzec@cambridgeshire.gov.uk
