Theatre arts workshop
Bedazzle Theatre Arts is running a five-day workshop in Peterborough at Nene Gate School on 25 – 29th October from 10am to 3pm. It's open to all ages. Healthy buffet lunch and snacks at break times are provided, also free-of-charge, (special dietary requirements catered for, please call to discuss). The course will follow a theme which includes singing, dancing, acting and arts & crafts; culminating with a presentation of the week's achievements to family and friends on Friday at 2:30pm. Students will be allowed to keep the props and costumes they make during the arts sessions and they will also be awarded a Bedazzle Theatre Arts Certificate to celebrate their achievements. The week is fully-funded by the 'Aiming High' initiative administered by Cambridgeshire-Mencap. Bedazzle staff are all CRB-checked of course. We take the welfare of our students very seriously, we have public and employee liability insurance, safe-guarding training and a very robust safe-guarding policy; most of our staff is first-aid trained. All our certificates are available for inspection at any time.
Other Bedazzle activities
We also provide regular weekly workshops for Mencap groups in Cambridge and Huntingdon for children, young people and adults. Projects include holiday and residential workshops. Our students participate in LAMDA (London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art) exams. Whilst LAMDA operate a 'reasonable adjustment' policy, it is a mainstream accredited qualification and therefore students are marked accordingly. Our Cambridge group have just passed their Musical Theatre Grade 1. Other projects include a demo dance/exercise DVD, we are planning to film a professional version with all our students shortly. Our Christmas show 2011 is booked for 25th November and will be performed in London and will be open to all groups. Bedazzle is adaptable and we welcome any opportunity to tailor our courses to students requirements
