Further information

The Way to Be awards were launched in 2004 to celebrate and reward the local services and businesses that do the most for disabled people.

Many local businesses go to great lengths to cater for disabled customers, but there is still a long way to go before Cambridgeshire is as accessible and welcoming as we know it could be.

Cambridge City Council have supported the scheme since its launch in 2004, and are keen to encourage actions that benefit Cambridgeshire's  disabled citizens and visitors. The 2010 winners were Richard Thompson's Taxis and Cambridge on Ice.

For the 2011 ceremony, the Way to Be Award will be presented at the Love Cambridge AGM on 15 September.

This will take place alongside the Love Cambridge Charter Awards.

If you know of any organisation or service in Cambridgeshire who you feel is going that extra mile for disabled people, please nominate them. This is a great way to say 'thanks'.
