NEW for 2012! Opportunities for parents to be representatives
We are getting more enquiries for parent representatives to join interview panels, take part in commissioning services, and attend events as speakers. Sometimes we get quite short notice for these requests and there is not time to include them in our monthly newsletters. So, we have set up this new section on our website to share these opportunities as widely and quickly as possible.
Short break commissioning opportunity - 17 January 2012
- 2 parents of disabled children needed to join commissioning panel to look at small fund (under £2000) applications
- Cambridge or Huntingdon venue - may be required out of school hours
- out of pocket expenses will be paid

Speaking opportunity - 18 January 2012
- 1 parent of child wit.h special educational needs needed to talk at conference

Short break commissioning opportunity - 8 & 14 February 2012
- 2 or more parents of disabled children to look at tenders for providing holiday clubs - preferably from north of County and who have not used an existing service
- Cambridge venues - out of school hours may be required and please note 14 February is half-term
- 8 February: 11.30am - 5.30pm at Castle Court (shortlisting); 14 February: 9.30am - 5pm at Meadows Community Centre (interviews) - preference will be given to parents who can attend on both dates
- out of pocket expenses will be paid - including childcare costs to help parents with childcare responsibilities during half term participate if they would like to (the dates are fixed)
