who's listening to parents
We know from consultation with over 1300 parents that only 8% of parents in Cambridgeshire believe they are listened to. Another 43% are not sure if they are or not.
We want to make sure that if parents take the time to get involved by attending meetings or completing questionnaires, and so on, that their views are then taken into account when planning and developing new support services. Otherwise why bother asking?
We have developed an 'Are you listening?' feedback form which we send to the services and organisations who have asked for our help with involving parents. This form gives them the opportunity to tell us what they have done as a result, and to provide evidence that they have listened to parents.
We hope to develop an online consultation database, however we don't have enough money at the moment. So, in the meantime, we will add copies of the 'Are you listening?' feedback forms returned to us to these pages so you can decide for yourself whether you think they have listened to parents or not.
