how to use this site

In this section we explain how to use the pinpoint website so you can find what you want as easily as possible.
Homepage
We have tried to include as much important information as possible on our homepage. For example, details of how to contact us, the latest news and the chance to join one of the pinpoint forums.
sitemap
If you have not used the pinpoint website before, the easiest place to start is by clicking on the sitemap. Click on this link to see the sitemap for a list of all the information included on the site.
search
If you already know what information you want to find on the pinpoint website but you can’t see it on the sitemap you can use the ‘Search’ button. You can find the 'Search' button in the top right hand corner of the website. For example, if you want to find out information about housing, type 'Housing' into the 'Search’ button to find relevant information.
You can also search our 'What's on and where to go' page for activities and events happening near you.
Also if you are a parent or carer you might want to use our 'Support group' search to find local groups of like minded parents.
site navigation and menus
Once you have used the site a few times you will get more used to where things are. Our information is divided into 9 sections including: information, support groups and get involved. These can be found across the top of the website, underneath the pinpoint logo and pictures.
Once you have chosen the section you want, click on the link, for example information. Each section is then divided into different topics which you can see in the blue box which is on the left hand side of the page.
Most pages also have a pink box on the right hand side of the page. The pink box contains useful and extra information, for example contact details or lists of useful websites.
frequently asked questions
Visit our 'frequently asked questions' section to help you and other parents to find the information you need as quickly as possible.
A-Z
We have included some links to useful A-Z's provided by other organisations, for example an A-Z of disabilities. Visit our A-Z section for more information.
accessibility
We have designed this site so that you can use it in the way that suits you best. For example you might want to make the size of the text larger. Visit our accessibility section for more help with this.
