The views of families and voluntary and community sector organisations have played a significant role in deciding which short breaks Cambridgeshire County Council will provide (CCC).
CCC and Young People’s Services and its partners have developed close links with organisations that represent the views of disabled children, young people and their families.
pinpoint is just one of the organisations who have helped CCC to understand what is important to parents and families.
A clear message from parents nationally and locally has been for better information about short breaks. The pinpoint website will provide clear and easy to understand information about how to access short breaks in a way which is easy for families to understand. This information will be developed during 2011.
Parents have said they trust the information they get from other families, and want to be able to hear about other families’ experiences. The pinpoint website includes a feature that lets families to search for short breaks and add their own comments.
