10 things you can do to Beat Blue Monday

Monday 16 January is officially the most depressing day of the year. pinpoint has developed a well-being programme to help parents to look after themselves and their mental health and our new well-being website pages will be launched very soon. The website will provide tips and advice on well-being including:

  • Connect - Making links with other people is vital to mental health. Giving time to both strengthen and broaden social networks is important for well being.
  • Be active - Regular physical exercise is associated with a greater sense of well-being and lower rates of depression and anxiety across all age groups.
  • Keep learning - Adult learning has been linked with positive effects on well-being and resilience. It increases self esteem, a sense of hope and social integration.

You could also take part in one of the laughter workshops are happening across the county on Monday 16 Janaury. Visit our events page for details.
