resources for support groups

We want all parents in Cambridgeshire to be able to access a support group that meets their needs if they want to.

We can provide help and advice on getting started, and with developing your group as it grows. Your group can also join the pinpoint network and we will send you regular information on issues and events that might be of interest to your members, and on opportunities for your group to get involved in making decisions on how families in Cambridgeshire are supported. Joining is simple and free - so why not join now?!

Your local Community and Voluntary Service (CVS) will also have a range of resources and training courses. Some offer free membership for small community groups:

The following resources are for people wanting to set up a support group for parents of children with special needs or a disability, however much of the information and advice is relevant for any parent group:

Bursaries for groups supporting parents of disabled children

Parents of children with additional needs can particularly benefit from being part of a support group. pinpoint is working with Young Lives to help parent-led groups get set up, and to find the funding and support they need to keep going. We will be offering a number of Young Lives membership bursaries, which means we will pay for your first year of membership. Contact us if you would like to know more.
