Cambridgeshire County Council has launched a “fairer contributions policy consultation” as it wants to make changes to how it asks adults (18+) for contributions towards the cost of some care and support services.
The consultation launched in December – just as Pinpoint finished for holidays. But it is open until February 23 and you can give your feedback online.
The changes focus on
- taking into account enhanced rate PIP when calculating contributions towards non-residential services
- introducing financial assessments on adults receiving short-term respite accommodation
- making direct debit the default payment for adult social care invoices
- charging a weekly fee for appointee services ( where the council manages income and pays bills for vulnerable adults who cannot manage their own money or don’t have family to do this for them
