Social care contributions – new Cambs consultation

Cambridgeshire County Council  has launched a “fairer contributions policy consultation” as it wants to make changes to how it asks adults (18+) for contributions towards the cost of some care and support services.

The consultation launched in December – just as Pinpoint finished for holidays. But it is open until February 23 and you can give your feedback online.

The changes focus on

  • taking into account enhanced rate PIP when calculating contributions towards non-residential services
  • introducing financial assessments on adults receiving short-term respite accommodation
  • making direct debit the default payment for adult social care invoices
  • charging a weekly fee for appointee services ( where the council manages income and pays bills for vulnerable adults who cannot manage their own money or don’t have family to do this for them

Read about the changes in full – and have your say on this formal public consultation – details on the county council website.
