pinpoint is an independent information, support and parental involvement network run for parents by parents in Cambridgeshire.
pinpoint was set up in 2007 in response to parents’ requests for:
- an independent source of information they could trust
- help for parent support groups
- chances to get involved in making decisions about services
The work pinpoint does is brokered by Young Lives. This means Young Lives:
- works with pinpoint to submit a bid or programme of work;
- sub-contracts the delivery to pinpoint but underwrites the contract (which means that Young Lives will ensure the contract is delivered if pinpoint fail to deliver);
- manages all financial aspects of the contract in accordance with normal procedures;
- monitors the delivery of the contract but does not line manage any individuals working on the contract on behalf of pinpoint; and
- takes a small administration charge for managing the contract and the financial arrangements.
