EDUCATION

Rebecca Salmon, along with members of the team, will be giving overviews of what is happening to improve the SEND support for our children in schools including SEND Support Pilot, Emotional Based School Avoidance and the ongoing research around Transitions from Primary to Secondary school.

Discussion – You asked for more information about what support our SEND teenagers have in Mainstream Secondary schools that is helping them to prepare for their adult lives. Martine Simpson Thomas will joining the teams to look at what should be happening and what to do if it isnt.

These Participation Events are designed to give SEND parents and carers the chance to meet with professionals and give feedback.

Pinpoint provide help and information to parents and carers of children and young people aged 0-25 with additional needs and disabilities in Cambridgeshire.

No formal diagnosis is required to access support from Pinpoint – a child may be on a waiting list, accessing services, had a referral turned down, or just be struggling.

We offer signposting and events for all things SEND and are the Parent Carer Forum for Cambridgeshire. Pinpoint also give parent carers opportunities to have a say and get involved in improving local services.

You will be sent an email containing the Zoom link to access the session 2 days before, 2 hours before and again 10 min before. Please do check your junk mail and spam folders as these emails sometimes end up there!

Be comfortable at Pinpoint sessions – You can keep your camera off and stay on mute and simply join us and other parent carers who “get it” from your sofa 😊
